Golden Bear pride: Schulte High School alumni braved the elements Saturday afternoon for the unveiling of a tribute to their former school in the form of a sculpture created by local artist Bill Wolfe. Mike Eldred and Tom Newlin, co-organizers of the event and Schulte alumni, were glad that after a long period of time spent fundraising and organizing they were finally able to pay tribute to the school where many locals attended. The Sculpture stands in front of the Corporate Square Offices at 2901 Ohio Boulevard. The golden bear was the mascot for Schulte High School. The artist Bill Wolfe, who had help from his one-year-old granddaughter Abigail June Wolfe, unveiled the sculpture in front of a large crowd despite the off and on rain. Alumni sang the fight song, took pictures with the sculpture, and shared memories with friends and family of the time they spent at Schulte High School.
