Tribune-Star/Austen Leake
A team effort: The annual Tribune-Star Christmas Baskets were packed up on Friday morning at the Tribune-Star Production Facility thanks to a team of volunteers. The Terre Haute North JROTC teamed up with employees of the Tribune-Star and their families for an assembly line. Volunteers packed food items into the baskets that were loaded on to a truck once they were complete. The baskets will be distributed today to ensure individual families in need throughout the Wabash Valley could have a proper Christmas meal. The fundraiser is over 80 years old and thanks to the volunteers and donations from the community intends on growing each year. The Tribune-Star has teammed up with Baesler’s Market, B&B Foods, the Salvation Army and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation this year. Due to the number of volunteers who showed up this year, the process was moving along quickly all morning.
