Riding together: The Ladies Who (ride to) Brunch group got together for their inaugural ride. For this ride the destination was Charlie’s Pub and Grub for drinks and brunch. Sandy Fuqua, one of the organizers, said the idea of the group was conjured up during a ride home from Sonka Irish Pub. There are similar groups all over the country and all it took was a Facebook group to get things rolling. Eleven members of the group showed up for the first ride. The plan is to have the ride once a month with different locations. The purpose of the group is not only to enjoy good food and good company, but also to encourage women from Terre Haute to ride more often. The group setting provides a comfortable setting and a pleasant experience for any ladies looking to ride. The group started at Deming Park and took advantage of the Ohio Boulevard bike lanes and cut over to Charlie’s using 19th Street.
