Backyard bee brood: Andy Lohrman gently rotates a frame from a honey super or beehive in order to inspect the brood or eggs and see if there are any other insects living in it on Friday at his home near Brazil. Lohrman said he had not inspected the super in a while and was eager to check the health of his bees which had been collected from a "cut out."
